New chief executive for Whyte & Mackay

Ashwin Malik is to be the new chief executive of Scotch whisky producer Whyte & Mackay, following the departure of Bob Brannan and Vivian Imerman, who has accepted an advisory role with the company.
Malik has been with Mallya's UB group for nearly 20 years, and will now relocate to Glasgow.
Mallya, who paid 595 million for Whyte & Mackay, said: "As the UB Group marches forward, increasing its leadership position in its core businesses and creating extraordinary stakeholder value, I felt it necessary to strengthen the management team in our beverage alcohol companies."
