Malibu pumps up the volume with Soundclash

Malibu is to host another series of Soundclash DJ battles.

The events form part of a 6.5 million marketing spend for Malibu this year, and involve a Caribbean-style "Eastside" and "Westside" battle, with DJs going head to head to win audience approval.

A total of 25 universities will host a Malibu Soundclash, culminating at the London School of Economics on November 9. Students will be able to taste a "perfect serve" Malibu and cranberry, and cocktail competitions will also be held on the night.

Jo Spencer, head of marketing for light spirits at Pernod Ricard UK, which owns Malibu, said: "Malibu Soundclash is a high-energy event, which perfectly reflects Malibu's positioning as a fun, vibrant, spontaneous and approachable brand.

"It allows Malibu to be part of a lively and interactive night out - reinforcing the brand as a relevant choice for 18-24-year-olds."
