IMW to auction 400 top wines at Christie's

Published:  23 July, 2008

Nearly 400 of the world's most expensive wines are being donated by members of the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) for two auctions.

The proceeds from the auctions, which will be held at Christie's on 30 October (London) and 1 November (New York), will help broaden the IMW's educational programme, and also offer scholarships and bursaries.

The wines on offer include: a 1935 Graham's Port; a 1937 Chteau Lafon-Rochet; a bottle of 1950 Armagnac; and a bottle of 1982 Le Pin.

The auctions are expected to raise in excess of 200,000.
