Bacardi leaves the Latin Quarter

Published:  23 July, 2008

Bacardi has ditched its Latin Quarter' advertising campaign for a new series of cinema and TV ads entitled The Way
It Should B'.

The new campaign features three commercials, as well as posters and in-bar materials. The first and main advert, 'There's No Bad Dancing', encourages people to enjoy dancing 'in whatever style they choose to "get down" in', said the company. Actors were not used in this commercial; instead, ad agency Fallon used 'groups of people just having a fantastic night out'.

The other adverts are entitled 'Make Less Strangers' and

'Fun Before Fashion', both designed to reinforce Bacardi's message that 'life should be like a fantastic night out - unpretentious and uninhibited'.

Meanwhile, Martell has unveiled the second phase of

its 'Let the Conversation Flow' ad campaign.

The campaign strives to show that Cognac consumption should be a social, not solitary affair, and it shows consumers enjoying a glass of Martell under conversation topics such as 'Happily Married or Happily Single?' and 'Salopettes or Sarong?' The campaign will feature a Christmas theme, the period that always sees the highest spirit sales.
