The London International Wine Fair has launched MyWineFair, a web-based tool designed to help visitors navigate the wines exhibited at the trade show.

Drawing on an online database, MyWineFair allows users to search for wines by country, producer, variety or price point and then create a personal list in advance of the fair.

This useful, time-saving device is incorporated into the new LIWF smartphone app, where fair-goers can also further tailor their visit by browsing the masterclasses and industry briefings taking place at the event.

Visitors without access to the app can visit the MyWineFair information centre "Hub" on the show floor at the LIWF, where wine specialists will be able to create bespoke itineraries for each visitor, detailing the wines they wish to taste, and the seminars and masterclasses they wish to attend.

The MyWineFair tool is an evolution of The List, which was launched in 2008.

Ross Carter, LIWF exhibition director, said: "At the 2012 Fair, 7,700 wines featured in The List, with 25,000 searches recorded during April and May alone, so we know this is a tool that has value to both exhibitor and visitor. MyWineFair takes this data to the next level, making it the leading wine event technology tool globally. We envisage this becoming important for the industry year round, identifying buying trends for the different channels and, importantly, giving exhibitors access to data on individual wine searches."
