Chase Distillery marks eighth birthday with San Francisco double gold
Herefordshire-based Chase Distillery is celebrating its eighth birthday this week with a double gold award at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirit Competition for its Williams GB Gin.
A double gold at the competition means that every one of the 21 judges gave the winner their top score across the four-day blind tasting that comprises the judging process.
The family-run distillery was founded by William Chase, creator of Tyrrells Crisps, in 2008.
It was the UK's first single-estate distillery, pioneering a field-to-bottle approach which sees the distillery use its own premium potato vodka - made from potatoes harvested and distilled on site - as the base alcohol for its gins.
Chase Vodka won the best vodka award at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition in 2010, not long after launch.
To mark its birthday, Chase is offering its fans the chance to win both a bottle of Chase Vodka drawn from its very first batch, as well as one of a hundred copies of William Chase's book, One Potato, Two.

Williams GB Gin is available from Waitrose and Booths and online at williamschase.co.uk, where it retails for £35 for a 70cl bottle.
Other gins from the Chase Distillery include the Elegant Gin, bottled at 48% abv, and the Seville Orange Gin and Eureka Citrus Gin, both of which are 40% abv and retail at £38.
A Sloe & Mulberry Gin, bottled at 29%, is priced at £30.
Chase also produces wines from the 40ha Château Constantin estate, located just north of Aix-en-Provence, which it acquired in 2012.
