D&D London to launch Royal Exchange outdoor café

D&D London is to launch new outdoor café at the Royal Exchange, London to open in summer 2011.

D&D London is to launch new outdoor café at the Royal Exchange, London to open in summer 2011.


The company has more than 30 top restaurants in central London, Paris, Copenhagen, New York and Tokyo and will add the outdoor space to its grade 1 listed Royal Exchange Grand Café.

It announced today that it has agreed terms with property owners Fenlay Limited to develop the space which will serve around 100 covers and will also offer food to take away.

It will be designed by Conran & Partners, the interior designers of D&D's existing ventures at the Royal Exchange (Restaurant Sauterelle and Royal Exchange Grand Café).


Des Gunewardena, chairman & chief executive officer of D&D London, said:



"A snowy December may seem a strange time to be thinking about pavement cafes. But we are very excited about this project. We are planning to create something different but complimentary to the Royal Exchange Grand Café, which has been a big success for us."
