Sud de France brings together 90 writers and bloggers for worldwide tasting

Published:  16 June, 2010

Sud de France is hold its first ever Sud de France Synchronized Worldwide Wine Tasting, that will bring together 90 wine writers and bloggers across 24 markets.

The tasting which will take place on June 21, will coincide with the fourth anniversary launch of the Sud de France brand - the umbrella brand of food and wine products from France's Languedoc-Roussillon region.

The wines have been selected to illustrate the diversity of the Sud de France offer.

The objective of the exercise is to collect tasting notes and feedback from the opinion leaders taking part on the diversity of the Sud de France wine offering as a whole, rather than on individual wines.

The five wines to be tasted have been chosen on a 'names out of the hat' basis from an initial selection by Dominique Laporte, Meilleur Sommelier de France (France's Best Sommelier) 2004.

The Maisons de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon in London, Shanghai and New York will be hosting the tasting at 11am in London and journalists taking part in other countries will taste the wines in their own homes or offices.

A live video link will be set up between the three Maisons and the Languedoc-Roussillon regional government headquarters in Montpellier, where the producers of the wines being tasted will be gathered, along with press and local dignitaries.

Participants will taste and then enter their tasting notes and comments on a dedicated Sud de France online platform, as well as on their own blogs, websites, Facebook and Twitter accounts; their feedback, and the identity of the wines tasted, will then be available the next day.
