Price hikes at LVMH offset decline in wine and spirit sales

Published:  23 July, 2008

Louis Vuitton Mot Hennessy has reported that despite a reported sales revenue increase of 5% for the entire group during the first quarter of 2008, wines and spirits were on the wane, with revenue dipping -7%.

According to the company, the negative impact of the exchange rate was largely responsible for the decline. However, sales were also down compared to the same period last year, and prices had to be raised to offset this.
