Campo Viejo turns to screwcap for white and ros

Published:  23 July, 2008

Rioja brand Campo Viejo is to launch two wines in its range under screwcap, Pernod Ricard has announced.

The Campo Viejo Viura, and the Ros will both arrive in stores bottled under the new closure this autumn.

Adrian Atkinson, Pernod Ricard UK's wine development director, said: "Innovation and product development are at the core of Pernod Ricard's strategy.

"Stelvin closures preserve fruit flavours and freshness, delivering the wine exactly as the winemaker intended.

"The move to screwcaps for Campo Viejo white and ros wines shows our commitment to delivering quality and value to consumers and further reinforces the trust they place in our brands.

"This is the latest initiative from Campo Viejo to take Rioja forward and continue to add value to the category as a whole."

The Viura, priced at 4.99, will be available at Asda, Sainsbury's, and Threshers, with the ros stocked by Asda and Threshers, retailing at 5.49.
