Salford Distillery kicks off UK growth push with DOMI Brands partnership

Published:  20 August, 2026

Salford Distillery has announced a partnership with ‘specialist commercial growth partner’ DOMI Brands which will support the producer’s next phase of expansion.

DOMI Brands will be focused on developing the distribution of Salford’s spirits portfolio across both the UK and export markets, which include Hong Kong and Canada.

The focus will be on accelerating the brand’s UK growth strategy through stronger customers relationships, identifying new opportunities for routes-to-market, and ensuring it can capitalise on continued demand for ‘authentic’ spirits.

Additonally, the producer told Harpers that its plan is “to both grow in our exisiting markets and to explore new export opportunities” .

Tommy Gaughan (pictured, left), the co-founder of Salford Distillery, explained: “We've put real time into building Salford Distillery, working with local suppliers, growing our community here in Salford and beyond and taking the liquid into markets like Hong Kong and Canada. That's not something you can shortcut, and it's given us a strong foundation to build from.

“Our B2C model is in good shape, but there's a strong opportunity to develop our B2B offering and that's where we're looking to DOMI to help us push things forward. We're an agile brand, we can react quickly and get things done, and we wanted a partner who gets that. Great credentials, great fit, and we're looking forward to getting stuck in with the team.”

Salford Distillery was launched in the City of Salford in 2018 by Gaughan and his co-founder James Harrison (pictured, right).

It has since become one of the North’s more recognisable spirits brands, boasting a range of quality rums and gins.

The brand opened its own distillery in 2022, under the railway arches of Salford – a venue where it has welcomed thousands of visitors for tours, tastings and immersive brand experiences.

Commenting on the partnership, DOMI Brands director Craig Brackett, said: “This is a partnership we are especially proud of. Spending time with Tommy and James, Salford Distillery has already built strong foundations, and we believe there is a significant opportunity to support the next stage of growth by unlocking new distribution, increasing visibility and helping more consumers discover this exceptional brand across the UK and abroad.”

The announcement also marks another step in DOMI’s growing drinks portfolio, which includes partnerships with Hofmeister Brewing Co, Masons of Yorkshire and Gweilo Beer.
