Enotria poaches Bibendum directors to fill new MD roles

Published:  30 November, 2018

Enotria & Coe has recruited Ants Rixon and Sam Thackeray from Bibendum to newly created regional and national managing director roles.

Rixon joins the company as regional on-trade managing director with Sam Thackeray taking on the ‘national’ role. Both take on their new positions with immediate effect.

In addition, the business said it had revisited its channel strategy and "recruited accordingly, aligning resource to the market opportunity”, with eight additional account managers having joined the team in the last few months.

The new management duo would take Enotria to the next level, with the recruitment drive a “key part” of the company’s strategy, said CEO Troy Christensen.

“Ants and Sam are experienced and well-respected and will bring to bear their skills and expertise on a challenging, but nonetheless exciting, marketplace – we’re delighted that they’ve joined the team,” he said.

With an “unrivalled portfolio and a service proposition that is industry-leading”, it made sense for Enotria to pick up the mantle and grow the category with a considered value-add programme of support for its customers, he added.

“It has been a challenging year: the market has been in turmoil, but with uncertainty comes opportunity. We’re committed to positioning ourselves as a market leader, and as the premium wine and spirits supplier of choice.

“Our business model delivers against a genuine desire to build value into the category. For too long the UK market has seen value stripped out of the wines and spirits offering, and put simply, it hasn’t worked.”

In the past two years, Enotria has invested significantly in its systems and logistics with the aim of creating a supply chain and distribution service “second-to-none”.
