Vinventions grows global market share as volumes rise

Wine closures specialist Vinventions has reported ‘considerable’ volume growth, delivering 2.7 billion closures in 2017 compared to 2.5 billion the previous year.

The business, which houses seven brands, said growth had been driven by its “commitment to innovation and sustainability” and had taken its world market share to 13%, making it the second biggest wine closure provider globally, it claimed.

Last year’s volume growth had mainly been driven by Vinventions’ nature-based Nomacorc Green Line and by its Vintop screwcaps – trends it said demonstrated global markets’ readiness to “embrace innovative and sustainable high-performance closures”.

“We are very glad to see how our enhanced commitment to innovation and sustainability is starting to drive our global growth in almost every country and almost every product category,” said president and CEO, Heino Freudenberg.

As part of Vinventions’ vision to be the most innovative and trusted global supplier of complete wine closure solutions, the company has launched 30 new products in the past 10 years, with its innovations team having created 97 granted patents and 47 pending patents, he added.

“Our dedication to innovation results in high-performing, well-designed, fault-free and sustainable wine closures that help our customers market their wines for success,” he said.

Created in 2015, Vinventions' ‘house of brands’ includes a portfolio of seven products and services designed to support the diverse requirements of still and sparkling wine producers across five continents.
