In case you missed some of the headlines this week on, we have put together a review of the top online news, Q&As, and opinion stories.

Most Read: Harpers kicked off 2017 with our first ever Think Rum event, when we celebrated the best and the brightest of this growing category. 

Elsewhere, Pinkster Gin continued its development and the UKVA announced that it was applying to turn the phrase "British Fizz" into a PGI for English sparkling wine. 

New World Wonders: The New World is coming to London again next week with the Australia Day Tasting, but this week the focus was on wines from the country's cousins in New Zealand.

While the debate about regionality continues to dominate conversations, we also looked at how the category's next challenge is to communicate its premium message and get consumers to trade up.
