Preparations for the spring trade tasting season are well underway, as is the case with Matthew Clark, which is ramping up its annual tasting by showcasing a wider proportion of its portfolio.

For the first time, the on-trade distributor is planning on uniting its beers, wines and spirits portfolios under one roof for one big circus-themed, "extravaganza" at Tobacco Docks on February 28.

The Drinks Emporium follows on from last year's DiscoverLoveInspire tasting, with a focus on presenting its entire drinks offering to the trade on one date.

Giving due attention to the craze for cocktails and craft beers, the distributor will be flexing its mixology muscles with demonstrations at the Alchemist Bar and showcase its boutique beer offering at the "Beer Ground".

The Wine Bonanza will feature over 500 wines including new arrivals, and dare devils which aim to push boundaries.

Speaking of the new concept, MD of Conviviality Direct, Mark Aylwin, said: "Historically we have only presented our wine portfolio at our London trade tasting, but with so much interest from in craft beers and premium spirits as well as wine, we wanted to showcase all that is new and innovative in these exciting categories.

"It will be a fun and immersive experience for our customers and the trade; a true reflection of all that is great in our sector."

The wholesaler, which is owned by drinks giant Convivality PLC, is then taking its portfolio on the road with the return of its Uncovered series.

This year, the on-trade roadshow will be stopping off in Edinburgh on March 7, Manchester on March 14, and Bristol on March 28,
