Published:  26 October, 2016

Marks & Spencer is to list Champagne Lanson for the first time with its award-winning Extra Age Brut NV gift box.

Lanson's Extra Age Brut NV is primarily drawn from the highly regarded 2002, 2004 and 2005 vintages of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards and is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay.

Sue Daniels, wimemaker at Marks & Spencer, said:  "We are delighted to have Champagne Lanson's Extra Age Brut NV added to our growing Champagne offering. We know that our customers will welcome an opportunity to try this exceptional Champagne."

Paul Beavis, managing director, Champagne Lanson, UK & International said: "We are absolutely thrilled about Marks & Spencer's decision to stock our exquisite Champagne Lanson Extra Age Brut NV.

"This is an important listing for us. We know that once customers try our Champagnes they become advocates and we hope that this will develop into a long-lasting relationship with Marks & Spencer."

Champagne Lanson's Extra Age Brut NV was created in 2010 to mark the house's 250th anniversary.

Each bottle shows the disgorgement date on its reverse label.

Champagne Lanson Extra Age Brut NV will be available in 220 Marks & Spencer stores and online at www.marksandspencer.com and will be priced at £45.

Other brands in the Lanson range include Clos Lanson, Noble Cuvée, Besserat de Bellefon and Champagne Tsarine.

Its Rosé Champagne was the number one best-selling wine in its category last year, according to figures from data analysts Nielsen.

Sales of the house's Rose Label Brut Rosé NV Champagne were up 12% in value and 13% in volume for the year ending January 2, 2016, including sales from the multiples and impluse sectors.
