The London Wine Fair 2016 to showcase most content in 36-year history

This year's London Wine Fair will play host to the largest ever schedule of debates, tastings and seminars, with more than 100 sessions planned across the three days.

This bumper set list will include everything from Industry Briefings to Masterclass Tastings, the new Pop-Up Tastings, The View Tastings and Speakers' Corner as well as specific events taking place on exhibitor stands.

Commenting on this year's content, show director, Ross Carter, said: "Education has always been a key component of the fair, alongside diversity and discovery. 2016's vast array of debates, tastings and seminars - the most in the show's history - will give visitors and exhibitors a platform of unrivalled content."

A full schedule of speakers and events will be available to view from mid-April for the first time via the innovative Bottlebooks booking system, which allows attendees to search and download details of specific wines and wineries exhibiting. All those planning to attend any of the events will need to book a slot thorugh Bottlebooks.

Speakers include Miles Beale, chief executive of The Wine & Spirit Trade Association, who will update the industry on the growth of English Wine and its future and potential impact on the UK wine market, Tony Edwards, author of The Good News About Booze, University College London Pharmacologist, Professor David Colquhoun, who will debate "Is drinking good for your health?", and Vana Koutsomitis, runner up from BBC's The Apprentice 2015.

There will be a taster preview of the International Cool Climate Wine Symposium 2016, which takes place in Brighton from 26 to 28 May.

The Masterclass Theatre will showcase regional and producer-led tastings.

These include Vineyards of Hampshire, with Sunday Telegraph wine writer, Susy Atkins, presenting a selection of wines illustrating the distinctive style of the county; and Tejo: Warm Days - Cold Nights - Cool Wines! presented by wine writer Dr Jamie Goode and winemaker Martta Reis Simões from Quinta da Alorna, who will explore the diversity of wines from this upcoming Portuguese region.
