Edinburgh Christmas Gin returns for second year

Published:  23 November, 2015

Edinburgh Christmas Gin is set to return to shelves for a second year, producer Spencerfield Spirit has announced.

The festive gin is infused with a range of botanicals, including frankincense, myrrh and nutmeg.

It was first released last year.

This year's release comes in a more slender bottle design made from Bruni glass. The label retains the Art Deco style of the Edinburgh Gin range.

The distillery will be donating £1 for every bottle of Christmas Gin sold in the UK to the Trussell Trust.

The Trussell Trust empowers local communities through the development of food banks to provide people with food and support in times of crisis.

All the money raised from the sale of the gin will go to Trussell Trust projects in Scotland.

Alex Nicol, managing director of Spencerfield Spirit, said: "We are so pleased to be bringing our Christmas Gin back for a second year and to be supporting the Trussell Trust which does amazing work in Edinburgh and throughout the UK.

"The new design of the bottle and the inimitable label makes the gin stand out from the crowd and it perfectly represents the Christmas season."

Edinburgh Christmas Gin has an ABV of 43% abv and retails at £30 per 700ml bottle.

Nicol, a former marketing director at Glenmorangie, recently made news with his successful challenge to the ASA regarding Pickering Gin's claim to be the first distillery in Edinburgh for 150 years.
