Every auction will be timed to end during the tasting.

The event will take place at Vintners' Hall, London EC4V 3BG on Thursda,y November 5 from 6.30pm - 9.00pm.

Caspar Bowes, owner and co-founder of GrapePip, said: "We feel that the best way to demonstrate the functionality of GrapePip.com is to host a combined tasting and live auction.

We're 100% sure of the provenance and quality of all of our wines, but allowing people to taste before hand removes any risk."

Tickets are priced at £10 in advance. To book, email: customerservices@grapepip.com.

GrapePip was launched in March 2013 by the husband and wife team of Casper and Victoria Bowes of fine wine merchants Bowes Wine. Its stated aim is to become the "eBay of the wine trade".

GrapePip brings together fine wine drinkers with merchants looking to sell what would otherwise be Bin Ends of wine.

Every wine listed on the site must come with demonstrable provenance and must have been exclusively stored in professional wine storage facilities since arriving in the UK.
