Copestick Murray to be exclusive distributor of Lisa McGuigan Wines in European markets

Copestick Murray announced today they will be the exclusive distributor in European markets for Australian wine brands Lisa McGuigan Wines.

The brand will launch in early 2015, with McGuigan producing wines specifically for the UK and Irish market.  The official launch of Lisa McGuigan Wines will take place at the Australia Day Tasting in January 2015, but the wines will be available for pre-order moving forward.

Robin Copestick and the Australian winemaker Lisa McGuigan have worked together in the past and the partnership was a natural fit.

Robin Copestick, the director at Copestick Murray, was excited about the opportunity to bring a new and innovative Australian brand to market.  He said: "Having worked with the McGuigan family in the early 2000's I can't wait to have Lisa on board. We firmly believe that Lisa McGuigan can become a top Australian brand in the UK and we can't wait to get going. The Australian category needs some shaking up and it needs excitement. This is it!"

After launching the brand in Sydney in 2011 McGuigan soon realised the potential for her brand overseas.  She said: "I realised very quickly that I had excellent export potential, and who better to partner than Robin and his team. We worked together when Robin was the UK and Europe General Manager for McGuigan Simeon, now Australian Vintage, and the success in those days was heady. We are very confident that we can achieve fantastic results in the UK and Europe."

Copestick sees the potential of McGuigan's wines in the UK and broader European markets. Copestick said: "Lisa's energy, creativity and attention to detail is exactly what the Australian category needs. The category could use a bit of life right now. We will be launching a three tier, multi channel range, which will be very competitively priced and the offer will be extremely compelling. Lisa will blend the wines specifically for the UK and Irish consumer."

Copestick Murray was the right choice for McGuigan because of the success of working with Copestick in the past, but also because the UK distributor has a track record of successful wine brand launches, like I heart Wines, in the UK market.

"2014 will see 30% year on year growth for Copestick Murray and we are now looking for three more sales people to ensure we maximise the potential of Lisa McGuigan Wines, I heart, Mionetto and our other key products," said Copestick.
