Adrian Atkinson leaves his role as Pernod Ricard's wine development manager

Published:  04 July, 2014

Adrian Atkinson has left Pernod Ricard this week as part of a mini restructure of its commercial and marketing teams.

Atkinson had been a key part of the company's wine team for the last eight years and has played an important role in helping to bring a number of new lines to market in his role as wine development manager.

He has been part of the team that has helped grow Spanish Rioja brand, Campo Viejo, to be the UK's number one red wine brand, for Campo Viejo Tempranillo, and the third biggest selling wine overall (Nielsen year to year to April 26, 2014).

Atkinson told Harpers.co.uk: "I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Pernod Ricard, indeed Allied Domecq before that and am now looking forward to some time with the family and golf pro over the summer before looking forwards to new challenges."

In a statement Pernod Ricard UK said: "Pernod Ricard UK confirms that Adrian Atkinson has left the business following eight years of service as wine Development director.  We would like to take the opportunity to thank Adrian for his loyal service and commitment to the business and wish him the greatest success for the future.

"This is one of a small number of changes within the UK business across the commercial and marketing teams as part of the global Pernod Ricard project to deliver operational efficiency."
