Farr Vintners has announced it will match whatever sum of money is raised by Benevolent  chairman, Chris Porter, as he embarks on his 'Around the Grounds in 14 Days' challenge to visit all  the 91 football league  grounds between May 12 and May 25.

Farr Vintners has announced it will match whatever sum of money is raised by Benevolent  chairman, Chris Porter, as he embarks on his 'Around the Grounds in 14 Days' challenge to visit all  the 91 football league  grounds between May 12 and May 25.

Porter, who is a director of the Porter & Laker division of logistics company, JF Hillebrand UK, will look to get to each of the grounds using a combination of pedal power on his own bike, or by train or tram.

The Farr Vintners offer will make a massive difference to the challenge and potentially double the £10,000 that Porter hopes to raise.

Porter starts his challenge on May 12 at Carrow Road, home of Norwich City Football Ground. He then aims to end up at Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace Football Club where Farr Vintners are not only one of the official sponsors, but Steven Browett, founder of Farr Vintners is also an owner and co-chairman of the football club.

Porter said of his fund raising efforts:  "I have been completely overwhelmed by the support from the trade for this mad venture and the gesture from Farr Vintners is simply wonderful. Of course, what better opportunity for all their competitors, and everyone else, to sponsor me and therefore cost Farr even more money!"

You can donate to Porter's challenge on his Just Giving page at www.aroundthegrounds2014.com.
