Following their tasting tie up last September in London the generic bodies of Argentina, Chile and South Africa are teaming up again to present their wines under the banner of Wines of the Beautiful South at this year's Prowein trade fair in Dusseldorf in March.

It is not the first time the three bodies have worked together at Prowein, but they hope by joining foces again under the Beautiful South name it can further cement their collaboration with the international trade.

Their link up at Prowein will give visitors the chance to taste interesting wines from each country plus also take part in educational workshops, and food and wine matching sessions. Each country will present two seminars to showcase their wines.

Key presenters lined up to give talks at Prowein include from the UK Ronan Sayburn MS and Tim Atkin MW, German journalist Caro Maurer MW and Swedish wine judge, Madeleine Stenwreth MW.

Siobhan Thompson, chief executive of Wines of South Africa, said the event will also give producers from each of the countries the chance to show the advances being made in winemaking across a range of price points. They will also demonstrate the environmental steps being taken to tackle climate change.

Argentina, Chile and South Africa first came together at ProWein in 2010 in a bid to highlight similar winemaking trends and styles taking place in each country.

You can find out more about the seminars taking place at www.winesofthebeautifulsouth.com.

ProWein takes place between March 23 and March 25.
