Love Your Liver campaign returns early next year

Published:  24 September, 2013

The British Liver Trust has partnered with Eisberg alcohol free-wine, Morrisons and Fibroscan to host pop-up liver clinics, which will offer the public free liver scans and the chance to sample Eisberg wines, as part of the Love Your Liver campaign.

The activity will take place on January 13, 2014, in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Cardiff and Bristol.

The Love your Liver campaign offers the public the chance to receive a free liver health check and get advice on the three steps they can take to look after their liver.

The experts at the British Liver Trust are advising a year-round three-step approach to make sure your liver is healthy. The road to better liver health includes taking two to three days off alcohol every week and drinking safely, cutting down on sugary and fatty foods, and getting regular exercise.

Eisberg will be sampling its alcohol-free wine collection, including a range of Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and rosé.

Members of the public will be given the opportunity to receive a consultation from a liver health specialist, talk through any health concerns and receive practical solutions to reduce the risks of developing liver disease.

All the pop-up clinics will be hosted in Morrisons car parks, making them easy to travel to and offering parking.

Last year, 495 people had their liver tested across the UK and around 22% of those had some signs of early liver damage.
