Media executive Lord Black to deliver keynote speech at WSTA conference

Published:  04 September, 2013

Newspaper executive Lord Black will deliver the keynote speech on how an industry needs to respond from potential government regulation at this month's annual Wine & Spirit Trade Association conference.

Lord Black of Brentwood, executive director of the Telegprah Media Group, will look at how the newspaper industry has adapted to meet consumer demand in a new, technological age and provide first-hand insight into the challenges of operating in an industry under imminent threat of new and significant regulation.

The conference will also feature a panel discussion chaired by Simon Jack, BBC Radio 4 Today programme's Business Editor.  Joining him on the panel will be Barry Clark, account director of the Future Foundation, Rebecca Smart, managing director of Osprey Publishing, Jon White, marketing director at Kimberly Clark and chair of the executive committee of ISBA, the regulatory body for the advertising sector.

WSTA chief executive Miles Beale said: "I am thrilled that we have such a high calibre of speakers at this year's WSTA conference. Our speakers are from a range of different industries and will offer a fresh perspective on the challenges facing our trade as well as ideas for meeting the needs of today's consumer."
