London's Cork & Bottle launches wine website

London wine bar Cork & Bottle has started to sell its products online at corkandbottledirect.com.

The new website was inspired by customers asking to buy wine to take-away or to supply events and ordering online.

Owner Will Clayton believes the site will provide consumers with "an exciting range of wines" at "extremely competitive price points".

The Leicester Square bar was established in 1972 by Don Hewitson, and has since "developed a reputation with outstanding growers around the world".

Clayton said: "The wine bar has grown from humble roots to become an iconic venue, not just with our friends in London, but is a favourite of many wine lovers across the globe - we have the ambition for the website to follow the same trend."

The website lists a range of 200 hand-selected wines.
