  • JOB TITLE: Business Manager – South Coast
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for Lanchester Wines’ portfolio/services.
  • Has a proactive approach to new business and works well in a targeted environment.
  • Living in or near to designated area with detailed geographical knowledge
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations/wine lists for current and prospective customers.
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups. To include Credit Control
  • Analyses the territory/market potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers.
  • Creates and manages a customer Journey plan to maximise the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment
  • Supplies management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions. Where needed.
  • Candidate Requirements;
  • Living in or near to designated area with a detailed geographical knowledge
  • Extensive Wine Knowledge
  • WSET qualified, minimum level 3.
  • Computer Literate – Excel & Word
  • Extensive Sales experience within the On-Trade industry
  • Analytical and numerate with attention to detail.
  • Ability to complete a detailed price proposal and write a balanced wine list
  • Ability to communicate with confidence both internally and externally
  • Experience of working with brand owners and strategic brand development would be advantageous
  • To demonstrate a passion for our products, our aims and customer service


  • Reports directly to the Head of Sales
