Vineyard Safaris is a new Australian wine tourism project set up to provide holiday makers with luxury VIP access to some of the most exclusive vineyards and cellars in the country.
It is the latest venture from Tim Wildman MW who has been running in-depth trade study tours to Australia's key wine regions under his James Busby banner. He is now looking to use the contacts he has built up with Australia's most prominent wineries to offer tourists similar full access to some of the most exclusive wine estates with Vineyard Safaris.
It claims to offer "unparalleled access and a VIP welcome at some of Australia's most famous wineries with a Master of Wine as your personal guide". It will be pitched at the top end of the tourism market.
The one day tours will initially start in South Australia and focus mainly on the wineries in Victoria.
Wildman said: "We love to take our guests in to parts of the winery that people rarely get to see and introduce them to the people who actually make the wine. Our motto is 'Beyond the Cellar Door', which means you'll be treated like friends and family."
Visitors will be given the chance to make their own blend and taste a wine from their birth year as part of the tour. Vineyard Safaris will operate during Australia's summer holiday season.
Wineries lined up to take part include Penfolds and Yalumba.
The venture fits nicely with Wine Australia's new link up with Tourism Australia to promote the country's iconic wine culture with its strong cultural, food, hospitality and tourism industries.
