Argentina's indigenous white grape variety has made some inroads into the UK, but this combined programme looks to widen the trade's knowledge and awareness of the grape's versatility, particularly in food and wine matching, through a series of tastings, round table discussions and consumer research.

Wine Intelligence is to conduct a blind-tasting programme examining consumers' taste perceptions around Torrontés across different price points.

The research will form the basis of a round table debate to be held with leading on and off-trade players on September 13.

Visitors to this year's Wines of Argentina annual tasting, at Lord's in London on September 14, will be able to assess the different styles of Torrontés in a masterclass presented by Sarah Jane Evans MW. Peter McCombie MW will host a further masterclass on red blends, and another seminar will see the spotlight will turned on to Fairtrade in Argentina.
