The European Wine Bloggers Conference has lined up Italian filmmaker Paolo Casalis and American broadcaster Evan Dawson to speak at its October event.

The theme of this year's event is storytelling and Casalis and Dawson will join journalist George M Taber at the conference, which takes place in Brescia, Italy, from October 14-16. They will offer workshops on video, photography, writing and oral reporting.

Dawson is the author of Summer in a Glass, as well as managing editor of the New York Cork Report. He also works as a TV broadcaster for 13 WHAM News This Morning in Rochester, New York.

Casalis's films document environmental and social issues and he has made three award-winning movies, the most recent being Langhe Doc. He will lead an interactive workshop on videography.

Taber was a reporter and editor with Time magazine in the USA and Europe for 21 years. He reported on the infamous "Judgment of Paris" tasting where California wines were ranked alongside France's best. In 2005 he wrote a book about the event.

The event is organised by Ryan and Gabriella Opaz and Robert McIntosh of social media company Vrazon. Each day includes wine tastings and at the end of the conference, delegates have the chance to visit the vineyards of Franciacorta and other regions.

Last year's conference in Vienna, Austria attracted 200 attendees from 30 countries. Delegate fees for EWBC 2011 are €200 for wine bloggers, €350 for others. Full details are available at http://winebloggersconference.org/europe/
