Barwell & Jones takes on premium Aussie wines

Barwell & Jones has added premium Western Australian winery Willow Bridge Estate to its portfolio.

Willow Bridge Estate was bought and planted by owners Jeff and Vicki Dewar in 1996, and claims to be the only estate winery in the Ferguson Valley. It is located a two hour drive south from Perth, in the Geographe Wine region, and is 25km from the coast and has an elevation of 230-280m.

The wines have an rrp of between £10-£35 and will be available to both the on and off-trade. Barwell & Jones will be the exclusive distributor in the UK with immediate effect.

The offering includes a Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot in the Estate Range, Wild Ferment Sauvignon, Solana Tempranillo, Gravel Pit Shiraz and a flagship Shiraz called Black Dog.

Dirceu Vianna Junior MW, wine development director, said: "Their award-wining varietal wines express beautifully the terroir and intense fruit character of this superb region in Western Australia. They combine exceptional climate and soils with skilled winemaking and high quality controls to produce elegant and modern wines."
