Home Affairs minister to speak at WSTA conference

Home Affairs Minister James Brokenshire will be the guest speaker at this year's WSTA Conference on September 15.

Home Affairs Minister James Brokenshire will be the guest speaker at this year's WSTA Conference on September 15.

Brokenshire is expected to discuss the government's consultation on proposals to reform the Licensing Act and introduce a ban on the sale of alcohol below cost price.

Brokenshire is also Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Crime Reduction.


Other key speakers at this year's conference include John Beard, Whyte & Mackay's chief executive; Chris Mason, managing director of First Drinks; Steve Lewis, chief executive of Majestic Wines; Jonathan Stordy, Beam Global's European managing director and Adrian McKeon, Asda's Beer, Wine & Spirit category director.


The conference, hosted by WSTA chairman Tim How, will also hear the latest market analysis from research houses Nielsen, CGA and Wine Intelligence.


The conference will be held at BAFTA, in Piccadilly in London.
