Prince and Duchess to visit Glenlivet Distillery

Published:  21 May, 2010

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will open a new extension to The Glenlivet Distillery on June 4 during a visit to Speyside, Scotland.

During their visit their Royal Highnesses will tour the new facility, which will deliver a 75% increase in production capacity to satisify future global demand.

Patrick Ricard, chairman of brand owners Pernod Ricard, and Christian Porta, chairman and chief executive of Chivas Brothers, will introduce the Royal couple to members of staff before a commemorative sculpture is unveiled.

Newly-appointed master distiller Alan Winchester said: "The opening will be a momentous occasion in the long and proud history of The Glenlivet Distillery."
