Pernod sells off Scandinavian brands

Published:  15 February, 2010

Pernod Ricard has sold off some of its Scandinavian brands as part of its mission to achieve €1 billion in savings.

The French company has done a deal with Altia, the state-owned Finnish business, involving brands such as Explorer vodka, Lord Calvert whisky, 1 Enkelt butter and Chill Out wines.

Also bundled into the deal are a bottling facility in Denmark and two logistics centres in Denmark and Sweden.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Pernod Ricard said the move edges it closer to its disposal target, having already achieved €0.8 billion in savings.
