Threshers acting chief executive resigns

Published:  06 October, 2009

First Quench Retailing's acting chief executive and financial director Martin Healy has resigned.

The company which owns Threshers and Wine Rack said Healy had left to "pursue other business interests".

The troubled owner of Threshers has also invested another £10 million from its private equity backer Vision Capital, and promoted its chairman Johan Van de Steen to executive chairman.

First Quench has appointed Martin Boden as chief financial officer. He moves from Genus where he was group finance director, and was also previously at GUS and WH Smith.

Since Vision Capital bought Thresher Wine Holdings in July 2007, it has injected a total of £105m into the struggling group.
