Thierry's take on Bouvet-Ladubay

UK wine importer Thierry's has added Saumur, sparkling wine house Bouvet-Ladubay to their portfolio.

Bouvet-Ladubay's extensive range of wines, which are produced by the méthode traditionelle, include a Brut, Brut Saumur, Crémant de Loire, Rosé Excellence, Saphir Brut and Trésor Médaillon, as well as the Mademoiselle Ladubay which is exclusive to the multiple grocers and La Petite Bulle labels.

Bouvet-Ladubay also produces the cuvée, Taille Princesse de Gérard Depardieu on a joint venture with the French actor .

Thierry's buying director, Dominique Vrigneau said: "We are delighted to welcome such a well-established and respected producer to the Thierry's family.


"We are passionate about the quality of the wines and believe that this is a perfect time to launch them in the UK market. We are confident that Bouvet-Ladubay's sparkling wines offer the best possible alternative to Champagne, giving consumers a taste of luxury without the high price tag."

The range retails from £6.99 up to £12.99 and will be targeted at the multiple specialists, multiple grocers and independents, as well as the on-trade.


Bouvet-Ladubay, based in St Hilaire St Florent, is the second oldest producer of sparkling wine in Saumur and exports 60% of its production to 38 countries.
