A new 100% Malbec rosé is being launched in the UK from Bodega Septima, Grupo Codorníu's Argentinean winery.

The wine has been produced specifically for the UK market to capitalise on the demand for rosé in the UK. The wine, which retails at £5.99 is aimed at both the on and off-trades.

Rosé currently only accounts for 2.3% of total Argentine exports to the UK. Septima export director, Marcelo Marasco, said: "Argentina has yet to develop a serious following within the rosé sector, but UK consumers have embraced our flagship variety - Malbec - so we feel this is the route in to gaining consumer acceptance and of course ultimately developing sales."

Septima Rosé 2008 is made from grapes sourced from the cool climate region of Agrelo, in Mendoza. Septima wines are distributed in the UK by Codorníu UK, 01892 500 250.
