Castel Frres has combined Oddbins' corporate and retail businesses in a new, slimmed down sales division, as part of an ongoing review of the business it acquired in January. Rumours that the corporate division has been closed are untrue, according to Oddbins' PR manager, Karen Wise, who told Harpers, This is a return to how we used to operate. It will make us a lot more effective and cohesive as a business.' The new division will include online and direct sales, as well as the retail and corporate (restaurants, hotels, bars and clubs) businesses. The changes mean that Robin Knapp, previously head of corporate sales, has left Oddbins, while Mark Dence, previously head of retail sales, becomes director of sales. Wise admitted there may be more redundancies at head office.
