All Bar One is launching a new beer menu, which will see Belgian brand Duvel Green arrive in the UK for the first time on draught.

The newly designed menu format will also feature other newcomers including Kasteel Cru Rose beer from France, Sierra Nevada pale ale from the US, Worthington White Shield from the UK and Vedett Extra Blond from Belgium.

To celebrate the launch of the new beer menu, the bar chain recently staged a 'beer challenge' competition, which saw a team of journalists beat a team of beer experts over a four rounds, including a university challenge style question round, a blind tasting, a beer and food matching and a mystery pint round.

Journalists Andy Lynes, Lucas Hollweg, Melissa Cole, Gina Schauffer and Rachel Dixon took on a panel of beer experts, including Hedwig Neven, Duvel's master brewer, Marc Stroobandt, master beer sommelier, Pete Brown, author of 'Man Walks into a Pub' and Fiona Smith, managing director of food and beer consultancy the F&B Partnership.

"Drink your beer with your food, don't eat your food with your beer. That is where people go wrong; both should compliment each other, not one overpowering the other," said Neven.

All Bar One's new beer menu goes live on September 29.
