Beam Global UK has donated £3,000 to the RSPB on behalf of Ardmore Scotch whisky, for a project to re-populate the east coast of Scotland with sea eagles.

An image of a golden eagle is embossed on every bottle of Ardmore single malt Scotch whisky, as the birds have traditionally been found riding the warm thermals above the distillery.

Beam Global scotch director, Michael Cockram, said: "To Ardmore, eagles represent our adherence to traditional ways of producing whisky. We are supporting the RSPB with their endeavours to re-populate the area following the birds' depletion due to hunting around 100 years ago."

The money will help fund the five-year partnership project between RSPB Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Forestry Commission Scotland. The latest phase of the project saw 15 white tailed sea eagles from Norway released in Fife. One of the eagles has been named Ardmore.
