Patrizio Cencioni is the new Chairman of the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Producers Association.

His appointment today received the unanimous approval of all members of the Board of Directors.

Patrizio Cencioni is 52 years and is native to Montalcino. He was today elected Chairman of the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Producers Association, by unanimous decision of all members of the Board of Directors.

Cencioni was born in 1956 into a family which had been producing the famous wine for generations; he is in fact the nephew of one of the founders of the Association, which was created in 1967.

He said: "One of my main objectives is to keep the producers united in order to work together to support and enhance the fame and the reputation this prestigious wine has acquired in Italy and throughout the world over the last few decades.

"More specifically the Association will be called upon to adopt and implement well-balanced solutions to deal with the current situation, first and foremost by collaborating with the members of the Guarantee Committee set up in the last few days by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, whose task it will be to coordinate and supervise the control of the production of Brunello di Montalcino' DOCG wine and the DOC wines Rosso di Montalcino', Moscadello di Montalcino' and Sant'Antimo'."
