Published:  23 July, 2008

Transport logistics company Porter & Laker regret to announce the death of their long-serving import manager for Europe, Jerry O'Leary.

Described as an extremely loyal and dedicated friend and employee, Jerry died of lung cancer on March 25.

He joined the Porter & Laker Division of JFHillebrand UK in April 1964. Over the 44 years, Jerry built up strong relationships with the trade whilst dealing with their European transport requirements.

"My grandfather employed him," Porter & Laker director Chirs Porter said. "He was a very happy character with a lot of friends in the industry. We thank everyone for the kind thoughts and tributes we have received. Jerry will be greatly missed."

The funeral, to be attended by close family and friends, will take place on Thursday April 3 at South Essex Crematorium, Corbets Tey, Upminster, at midday.
