Musar strike UK deal

Published:  23 July, 2008

Lebanese producer Chateau Musar will de-list its entire Cuve range from the UK market and launch a new label with Constellation-owned Matthew Clark.

Distributor Matthew Clark has won exclusive on-trade distribution rights for Lebanon's Chateau Musar from 2008 and a new 'Mosaic' red, white and ros range will be introduced in 2008.

Musar's indigenous Lebanese spirit, arak, will also join these wines and Matthew Clark will begin listing rare, older vintages of Chateau Musar red.

"We believe that the combination of Matthew Clark's and Forth Wines expertise in this field and their respect for our wines and our reputation represent the best way forward for Chateau Musar in the on-trade sector," said Ronald Hochar, Chateau Musar's co-owner and communications manager.

Matthew Clark's Andrea Ruggeri said: "On-trade regional wine merchants and specialists will also be able to purchase from the range through Matthew Clark's sister company Forth Wines."
