Ian Macleod launches six Isles Island advertising campaign

Published:  23 July, 2008

Ian Macleod Distillers spends a five figure sum to advertise its Six Isles Island blended malt Scotch whisky.

Developed by Robertson Darby Advertising, the new campaign, titled Six Island Malts in one glass' has been created to reinforce the Six Isles unique position as the only blended malt scotch whisky in the world that combines whiskies from all six of the whisky producing Scottish islands.

The six Scottish islands are: Islay, Jura, Mull, Arran, Skye and Orkney.

The campaign will be rolled out in a number of consumer titles in both the UK and across Europe.

Iain Weir, director of marketing for Ian Macleod Distillers said: "The new campaign is really about simplifying our message to consumers.

"The focus is on the quality content of the product and reinforcing the Six Isles as the only blended malt that has whiskies from all six whisky producing islands".

Blended Malt whisky international sales continue to grow. Last month, the Scotch Whisky Association announced that the total export volume of scotch by the end of 2007 was expected to be up by 17% on 2006, the equivalent of an extra 71m bottles.

The Six Isle's recommended retail price is 19.99.
