Poor summer a boost to Restaurant Group

Published:  23 July, 2008

The Restaurant Group is expected on Wednesday to report a jump in pre-tax up to 16.5 million for the first half of the year due largely to more people choosing to spend more time eating out during the poor summer.

Prezzo, which has 100 outlets across the country serving mid-price pizza and pasta, is expected to show pre-tax profits of 4m, up from 3.1m in 2006 when it releases its results on Thursday.

Prezzo is run by chief executive, Jonathan Kaye, who is also behind the successful Ask restaurant chain.
