Thierry's French range grows across the board

Agent and importer Thierry's has announced new additions to three of its French agencies.

Chamarr - which aims to be the top French brand in the UK within five years - has launched five new wines. A Ctes du Rhne joins the AOC?range, which includes Bordeaux and Juranon, while a top tier Grande Rserve' range has been created, comprising a Chardonnay, a Viognier, a Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Syrah. The Rhne will retail for 5.99, while the Grande Rserve wines will retail for 6.99.

The Mont Tauch range has been repackaged, and features a new 2006 ros from Corbires (priced at 4.99), and a 2005 Reserve Fitou, priced at 6.99.

Former French rugby international Gerard Bertrand has purchased a winery in Limoux in the Languedoc, Domaine de L'aigle.

He told Harpers that the winery is the most beautiful in the area', and that 15 hectares each of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir was part of the deal. Bertrand, who now owns five wineries, estimated that he will produce 100,000 bottles of each variety.
