Changes to Roederer awards

Published:  23 July, 2008

Announcement of the winners at the wine writers' awards sponsored by Louis Roederer have been moved to early September. The move has been instigated in order to have publication of the results in wine magazines before the Christmas shopping period.

Entry forms are available from 2 February, with the closing date for entries from 16 March. Entries need to have been published or broadcast between 18 December 2005 and the closing date.

Chloe Wenban-Smith takes over the running of the event, from Deborah Collinson, as competition manager from Louis Roederer's UK office at Maison Marques et Domaines (MMD). Collinson will be part of the judging panel for 2007. Steven Spurrier will continue as the awards' chairman of the judging panel.

MMD has appointed Simon Swa as marketing manager with responsibility for Louis Roederer, Bordeaux (de Pez, Haut-Beausjour), Ramos Pinto and Pio Cesare. Laura Skeggs is promoted to the position of brand manager handling Domaines Ott, Meerlust Estate, Pascal Jolivet and Domaines Schlumberger.

The company also will have a professional in-house PR contact for the first time, with Chloe Wenban-Smith taking on the media relations role while retaining external PR firm Pike PR. For more information, contact Chloe Wenban-Smith on 020 8812 3380.
