New wines + new look = higher sales for HBJ

Published:  23 July, 2008

Hayman Barwell Jones Wines and Spirits has revamped its Terrain label and launched a new range of nine French Vin de Pays house wines for the UK on-trade.

The original dual varietals of Colombard/Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec/Merlot remain; the new additions are single varietals including Cabernet Franc ros, Merlot and Viognier. The wines were sourced by HBJ's director of buying and marketing, Elizabeth Wilson, and the old Terrain packaging has also received an overhaul from designers Amphora. Wilson commented: 'The style of the wines has improved and we are really pleased with the new look.' Following the changes, she confirms a sales increase on the original blends of 400% for the red and 20% for the white.

Outlets listing the wines include Great Eastern Hotel, The Sanderson and Havelock Tavern.
