Laurent Perrier Ros scam

Published:  23 July, 2008

Retailers and wholesalers are being warned to be aware of a scam involving Laurent-Perrier Ros Champagne.

According to David Hesketh, managing director of Laurent-Perrier UK: There have been recent attempts by persons unknown to fraudulently acquire stock from Laurent-Perrier's customers. These attempts involved a person telephoning a customer purporting to be from London City Bond. They advised the customer that there were quality issues with Laurent-Perrier Ros and that it had to be collected for analysis. This is an attempted fraud. The Laurent-Perrier UK Ltd and London City Bond returns and collection procedur (for whatever reason) is only undertaken when duplicate copies of complete and correct paperwork are left with customers and there has been prior contact with Laurent-Perrier.'

Hesketh stressed that there are no quality issues with Laurent-Perrier Ros, which has a retail price of 38.99. Anybody contacted in this way should call Laurent-Perrier on 01328 475 404 or contact the police.
