Conran manager is top WSET student

The manager of Blueprint Caf, the Conran-run restaurant at the Design Museum, has won the Vintners' Cup for top WSET Diploma student of 2005. Richard Hamblin, 33, who puts together the wine list for the restaurant and has been working with wine and spirits since he was 18, said he is now looking to embark on the MW programme if work commitments allow'.
Amy Chapman won the award for best non-trade candidate.

Majestic staff once again dominated the awards ceremony - presented by TV celebrity Jilly Goolden - at Vintner's Hall on Monday, matching last year's figure of seven awards. The other Diploma award winners in full were: Emma Dalton (Emma Dalton Fine Wine); Rebecca Russell (Bonhams); Giles Cooper (Majestic); Anthony Collet (United Wineries); Antonia Lloyd (The Wine Society); Caroline Shepherd (Sotheby's); Paul Harley (Majestic); Laura Hope (Averys Wine Merchants); Brenda Kelly (Bibendum); Laura Iverson (FGL Wine Estates); Gillian Nichol (Quellyn Roberts Wine Merchants); Rebecca Gibb (Boyntons Wines); Victoria Langlois (Majestic); Douglas Daniels (Atrium restaurant); Nathalie Safran (Decorum Wines); Philip Shorten (Jeroboams); James Williams (Williams McKenna Wines); Elizabeth Marsh (Thresher); Greig Wilson (Majestic); Christine Gellie (freelance writer); Deborah Holt (The Winery); and Anna Beeston (Capricorn Wines).
